Hi, I’m Hannah.

Founder of Mummas Out of Office.

The idea for Mummas Out of Office came at a time when, quite simply, I needed a break.

I’m a stay-at-home mum to two beautiful girls, and like so many mums, I had become completely consumed by the invisible mental load of motherhood — the planning, organising, remembering, anticipating and making sure everyone else was okay.

One day, someone looked at me and said,

“You look like you need a break.”

And I remember thinking… I do.

But then came the questions.

Where do I go? Who do I invite? What do we do? And why does having a break suddenly feel like another thing I have to organise?

That thought stayed with me.

Because mums are incredibly good at creating beautiful experiences for everyone else. We organise the birthdays, the holidays, the family days out and the catch-ups.

But when it comes to ourselves, it can feel almost impossible to make it happen.

So I created Mummas Out of Office.

A place where, for once, everything is organised for you.

No planning. No endless group chats. No coordinating everyone’s schedules or deciding where to go.

You simply book your ticket, turn up and clock out.

But what started as an idea to give mums a genuine break from the mental load has become something much more meaningful.

A sisterhood of motherhood.

There’s something incredibly special about watching women walk into an event — some with friends, some completely on their own — and seeing those barriers disappear.

Because although our lives may look completely different, there is an unspoken understanding between mums. We know the love, the chaos, the exhaustion, the mental load and the feeling of sometimes losing a little bit of ourselves amongst it all.

Mummas Out of Office is a chance to find that part of yourself again.

To dress up. Try somewhere new. Have the cocktail. Dance. Laugh. Meet new people. And have conversations that aren't interrupted 47 times.

To remember that motherhood may be an enormous part of who we are, but it isn't all that we are.

We’re still women experiencing life, friendship and ourselves for the first time too.

Every Mummas Out of Office event is thoughtfully curated from beginning to end, while proudly showcasing incredible local businesses throughout Cairns.

But my favourite part will always be the same:

Watching women arrive as strangers and leave as friends.

That is the sisterhood of motherhood.

And that is Mummas Out of Office.
